Machine (Baler) Operator

 POSITION:             MACHINE (BALER) OPERATOR

DEPARTMENT:     OPERATIONS

REPORTING TO:    DEPOT SUPERVISOR

Job Brief

We are seeking an experienced Machine (Baler) Operator to serve our depot functions in a safe and timely manner. The incumbent will be responsible for the daily set-up and operation of the baler. They will also ensure the machine produces the weight required, runs smoothly and at capacity,and is properly maintained.

Responsibilities:

·       Ensure material is appropriate for baling

·       Tend to machine that carries out baling process and observe its functioning

·       Read scales to verify weights of bales

·       Once per week ensure baler is cleaned

·       Ensure all bales produced are placed in the storage area

·       Notify supervisor of any product problem or baling issues immediately

·       Responsible for house-keeping standards around the baling area.

·       Verify quality and count with accuracy all bales produced

·       Ensure daily targets are achieved

·       Ensure adequate wire is on hand for baler

Qualifications & Skills:

·       Knowledge of mechanical operations and skills

·       Knowledge of all safety practices and guidelines

·       Ability to work independently

·       Attention to detail

·       Required to exert physical effort

Education:

·       High school diploma

·       Proven work experience as a Machine (Baler)Operator is an asset
