In many ways, sustainability lies at the heart of Damien’s 40+ years of professional experience. As a forward-thinker who is passionate about innovation and insights, Damien serves as Executive Director of the Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI), a public policy think tank.
He lectured in Economics at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. He conducted groundbreaking research focused on sovereign debt, economic modeling, international trade, fiscal analysis, labor markets, and financial inclusion, amongst others. A storyteller at heart, Damien co-authored Debt and Development in Small Island Developing States.
Damien earned his B.A. from York University, Canada, an M.Sc. from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, and a Ph.D. from New York University, USA. He serves on several public and private boards, committees, and commissions.
Damien's downtime often involves immersing himself in the thrill of cricket matches and finding solace in the tranquility of his backyard, where he can appreciate the beauty of nature.
